This recipe comes to you straight from Steve the Bartender, and is the easiest version of the drink around. No muddling, no muss, no fuss. According to Steve, “People started ordering an “old-fashioned whiskey cocktail” to ensure they received a whiskey-based cocktail that didn’t have any adulterations and by 1880 the mixed drink was commonly referred to as the Old Fashioned.”
So there you go. While I prefer my version to the classic, this is probably what you’ll get when you order an Old Fashioned at your local bar. Cheers!
