The Emperor’s Bourbony Bliss Cocktail

0.0 from 0 votes

The Emperor’s Bourbony Bliss is a cocktail I created for a cocktail contest sponsored by Difford’s Guide, where contestants were to come up with a cocktail that contained Mandarine Napoleon. It’s a versatile orange liqueur akin to Cointreau, with maybe a touch more herbal notes. I’ve used it in other cocktails including the Bourbon Orange Satchmo.

I wanted to create a bourbon-based cocktail that also celebrated the flavors of orange and botanicals found in Mandarine Napoleon. The cardamom bitters add a touch of exotic flavor and help balance out the sweetness of the bourbon and orange, while the lemon juice adds a touch of tartness. And the foamy head just adds a bit of fun!

As it’s late in the day on “announce the winners” day, and I haven’t gotten an email, I’m going to assume the judges chose a different cocktail. Alas! But that’s okay, because you can still enjoy the recipe I came up with by making it at home. If you do, and you like it, let me know in the comments!

Hi! I’m Bob!

If it’s got bourbon in it, I’m drinking it. And if it’s really good, I’m gonna figure out how to make it, and share it with you. Because I’m good like that.
